Apple’s glass‑centric 20th anniversary iPhone is still coming in 2027. Bloomberg reports the redesign is on track, despite claims from Jefferies that it was canceled.
The design will use glass on the front and back, curving into the sides, with a slim metal band in the middle. Internally known as V73 and V74, the models are expected to debut as part of the Pro lineup. Apple had tested a more ambitious all‑glass version, but that idea was dropped early in development
Reports suggest the confusion came from Jefferies pointing to this scrapped concept. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman clarified that the current plan is still moving forward, focused on a glass‑centric design for the Pro and Pro Max models.
Reactions show mixed views. Some users note Apple has already used glass and metal in past designs, calling this more evolutionary than revolutionary. Others expect the curved glass edges to align with Apple’s broader design language, including iOS visuals and Apple Watch displays.
