Apple just pushed iOS 27.0.1 to iPhones, fixing key bugs from iOS 27. The update is now live for all supported devices.
The biggest fix is for iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Some units were restarting when Face ID failed during app authentication. Apple promised a patch earlier this week, and this release delivers it.
Another issue affected the camera. Users saw color artifacts when shooting at 2x zoom in certain lighting. iOS 27.0.1 cleans this up, giving you better photo quality.
Apple also fixed a touchscreen bug. Opening Notification Center and Control Center at the same time could make the screen unresponsive. This problem hit all iPhone models, not just the latest ones.
The release notes are short, but Apple usually includes smaller fixes that are not listed. Older iPhones may also see better stability and smoother performance. Alongside this, iPadOS 27.0.1 is out with general bug fixes for iPads.
