PLDT and Smart will block more than 100 websites that stream school shootings and extreme violence. The move is part of their child protection and online safety programs.
These sites will be banned as soon as they are found, making them inaccessible to all PLDT and Smart subscribers. The goal is to keep children safe from harmful online content.
COO Butch Jimenez said their networks will not be used to spread content that glorifies violence. He stressed the companies’ commitment to keeping the internet safe for young users.
The list of blocked sites will continue to grow. PLDT and Smart are working with government agencies, child protection groups, and parenting communities to identify more platforms that spread violent material.
This effort builds on PLDT’s existing program to block child sexual abuse material online. By expanding to violent content, the companies are strengthening their stance on digital safety.

Subscribers will no longer have access to sites that turn real-world violence into entertainment. More bans are expected as monitoring continues.
