A report by analytics firm OpenSignal reveals Smart Communications as having the fastest LTE network in the Philippines.

According to OpenSignal’s March 2018 report, Smart has the fastest LTE network, and was given citations for the best 4G LTE download speeds, best overall download speeds, best 4G latency performance, and best 3G latency performance.
OpenSignal also cited Smart for best overall download speed average in the country at 5.8Mbps versus competition’s 4.4Mbps. In the report, Smart LTE speeds were faster in all measured areas, such as in the National Capital Region (13.04 Mbps vs competition’s 8.57 Mbps), North Central Luzon (11.59 Mbps vs 6.34 Mbps), South Luzon (11.66 Mbps vs 7.03 Mbps), Visayas (13.49 Mbps vs 7.37 Mbps), and Mindanao (14.42 Mbps vs 7.38 Mbps).

Globe leads the race for 4G availability, as users were able to find its 4G connections 67.5% of the time. Smart is just down 8 percentage points with 59.5%. The global average for 4G availability in more mature markets is 70%.
Smart is on track in meeting their commitment to the National Telecommunications Commission to achieve 90% municipality coverage for 3G and 4G mobile broadband by the ned of the year.
