Globe pushed its 5G rollout in Q1 2026, adding 408 new cell sites and lifting outdoor coverage to 98% across Metro Manila and major cities in Visayas and Mindanao.
Mobile data remains the backbone of Globe’s business. It accounted for 89% of service revenues, up from 85% last year. Revenues climbed 11% year-on-year, while traffic grew 18%. Average monthly usage hit 16GB per subscriber, with 39 million active data users out of 67 million total.
To connect areas beyond terrestrial reach, Globe rolled out a direct-to-mobile satellite service with Starlink. This will serve the remaining 4% of Filipinos outside the usual coverage.
The telco also continued to expand its fiber services and improve customer experience through digital platforms and hyperpersonalization.
Financial results show mixed signals. Net income dropped 20% to ₱5.6B due to economic pressures. Still, core net income rose 9% to ₱4.9B, driven by strong demand for mobile data, fiber broadband, and enterprise services.
