J.K. Rowling, author of the wildly popular Harry Potter books, just unveiled a website called Pottermore (www.pottermore.com), described as “a free website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter books.”
J.K. Rowling reportedly wrote new materials revolving around the Harry Potter story which will be made available to Harry Potter fans through the website. According to Rowling in a video currently posted on the website, Pottermore will be a place where fans can “share, participate in, and rediscover stories”. The site will also offer, for the first time, ebooks of the Harry Potter series. Reports say Pottermore will also offer games, readings and competitions.
The official launch is in October of 2011, but the site encourages Harry Potter fans to come back on July 31 to find out how they can get the chance to enter Pottermore early.
