Nokia 700 and 701, Nokia 500 and Nokia 101 Now in the Philippines; Pricing Released

Nokia has announced the availability in the Philippines of four new handsets: the Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 smartphones powered by the latest Symbian Belle software; Nokia 500, a handset for the entry-level smartphone market; and the Nokia 101, Nokia’s fifth Dual SIM phone and the most affordable to-date.

“Nokia stands true to its commitment of connecting the next billion consumers with these four new features-packed, high-powered handsets,” said Mike Smith, Device Portfolio Manager of Nokia Philippines. “These new mobile phones each address specific consumer needs, promising to enhance user experience.”

Nokia 700 and 701 Symbian Belle Handsets

Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 bring the latest smartphone functionality at attractive price points, and run on the new Symbian Belle OS.  Symbian Belle powers both devices with single-tap NFC Technology sharing and pairing, the most personal user interface so far and a more powerful mobile web browsing experience. Apart from allowing content to be shared between devices, NFC capabilities allow any of the two new smartphones to pair with NFC-enabled mobile accessories, such as speakers or Bluetooth headphones and headsets.

Nokia 700 is the most compact touch screen monoblock smartphone in the world, with 1 Ghz processor, 3.2-inch AMOLED screen ClearBlack display, 2GB of internal memory, HD video capture and a 5 megapixel full focus camera with LED flash. It is also Nokia’s most eco-friendly smartphone, which boasts of a long battery life and uses eco-friendly materials and features to minimize battery consumption.

The Nokia 701, on the other hand, is Nokia’s brightest smartphone that incorporates what the company calls the world’s brightest ever mobile phone display based on a 3.5-inch ClearBlack display. It also has active noise cancellation for the clearest sound quality. Based on the popular Nokia C7 design, the Nokia 701 also has a 1GHz processor, 8MP full focus camera with dual LED flash and 2 X digital zoom, 2nd front-facing camera, HD video capture, and comes with 8GB internal memory.

 

Nokia 500 Entry-Level Smartphone

The Nokia 500 is the Finnish company’s entry-level smartphone that incorporates its fastest processor to date, a 5 megapixel camera, a great music and entertainment experience and preloaded Ovi Maps and turn-by-turn navigation. It extends Nokia’s portfolio into the entry-level smartphone market without sacrificing quality.

Powered by Symbian Anna, Nokia 500 boasts of a faster Web browser that allows users to connect to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter quickly and get live chat updates directly on the homescreen. With its 1GHz processor, it lets users open lots of apps at the same time, switch between apps quickly and easily, and run the most demanding apps without slowing down the phone.

The Nokia 500 comes pre-loaded with some of the best music and entertainment apps such as Shazam Encore, Gig Finder, Lonely Planet, and Michelin guides. It also boasts access to Nokia’s latest maps technology, optimized for social networking so users can check-in to locations around the world. Offline voice-guided walking and driving directions in over 80 countries help to avoid hefty data roaming charges.

Nokia 101 Dual SIM Phone

The Nokia 101 is Nokia’s fifth Dual SIM device in the last three months and its most affordable to date, which enables users to connect to two different networks to receive calls and messages. The Nokia SIM manager allows users to select which SIM card to use to make a call or send a text message, helping them manage costs and maintain network coverage without needing several phones. In addition, the SIM manager allows users to store the settings of up to five SIM cards on the phone, and to personalize them by assigning names and logos for each SIM setting.

In addition to an FM radio, the Nokia 101 features an integrated MP3 player and a 103-phon loudspeaker, and provides support for up to 16 GB microSD memory cards, allowing users to carry their entire music collection with them.

Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia 500 and Nokia 101 are now available at Nokia stores with an SRP of PhP14,490, PhP15,990, PhP9,290, and PhP1,490, respectively.
