Google Tricks You Should Try

We all know that Google comes up with tricks and pranks once in a while.  Who would forget the Gmail Motion which turned out to be an April Fool’s prank?   But did you know that there are other Google tricks hiding somewhere, waiting to be discovered?  Here are a few Google tricks that you should try.

TILT

This one only works with Google Chrome or Safari.  Load up Google Search, type in “tilt” and hit enter. See the screen tilt to the right.

DO A BARREL ROLL

This time, instead of typing “tilt”, type in “do a barrel roll”.  Watch the screen rotate.

GRAVITY

Just go here and see what happens.  You can move things by clicking on them.

SPAM

You use Gmail don’t you? Go to your Spam folder. You’ll see an actual SPAM recipe there.

NINJA

In the Google Reader feed, press “up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A”.  The word “Ninja!” appears in the searchbox.

SLAY THE DRAGON

Open a spread sheet in Google Docs and press Shift+F12.  See what message appears.

LMGTFY

Did you know there’s actually a site called LMGTFY with this link: http://www.lmgtfy.com/.  It basically means Let Me Google That for You.  This is for people who ask questions with obvious answers or with answers that can be easily found on Google.

Type in the question on the search field, get the short link and give it to the person asking.  Google somehow taunts the person and tells him how easy it is to just Google the question.

BORK, BORK, BORK!
