Sony Xperia Tipo and Tipo Dual-SIM Available Starting September, Price Starts at P7,690

OPPO Reno12 F 5G Coming Soon

Sony announced the Xperia tipo in June and now we have an idea how much it will cost in the Philippines.

Sony Xperia tipo is a budget Android phone and though it carries the Xperia name, it’s not as flashy as its other Xperia brothers.  The Xperia tipo is worth checking out though if you are a first time Android user or a first time smartphone user for that matter.  The Xperia tipo comes in single-SIM and dual-SIM variants. The dual-SIM version will have a dedicated button on its side to switch between the two SIM cards.

Both have a 3.2-inch HVGA (320×480) display that’s said to be scratch-resistant.  It runs on an 800MHz single-core Qualcomm processor coupled with 512 of RAM so it’s not much in terms of performance.  It features a 3.2-megapixel rear camera though so that it should be able to handle your basic shooting needs.  What’s good is that the Xperia tipo is expected to last 24 hours with its 1,500mAh battery.

Other specs include a FM radio, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 2.5GB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot.  They both run on Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.

The Sony Xperia tipo will be available in black, white, red and blue colors.  They can be purchased starting September for a price of Php7,690 for the single-SIM variant and the Xperia tipo dual is priced at Php8,490

  1. Got the Sony Experia Tipo Dual. So far it’s a great phone for me. The dual sim has a toggle switch that allows you to choose a primary sim and a secondary sim. The primary allows you to make calls and send messages like a normal phone and connects to 3g, while the secondary will be placed on active standby to accept calls, messages and data only. You can switch at any time which sim to be primary. If you want both sims to be on primary status, this is not the phone for you. I am not a heavy user so this phone makes it very suitable to my needs. The UI is quite responsive and the display is pretty sharp which is also because the viewing screen is only 3.2 inches. The chipset is Qualcomm MSM7225AA  Snapdragon running 800 MHz. Android OS is Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0.4 allowing for a smooth execution of commands to the touch. This is definitely better than the Samsung y duos or the LG Optimus L3 duos which runs on Gingerbread. Battery is decent at 1500 mAh.
