Cherry Mobile officially announced the Omega Android handset on its Facebook page. This Android phone has been teased for a long time and finally Cherry Mobile revealed the handset in an official announcement.
The Cherry Mobile Omega is another “phablet” with a display that measures 5.2 inches. That’s about 0.2-inch bigger than the Titan W500. The Omega is better than the Titan W500, though as it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. We know that Jelly Bean is faster, smoother and simply better than Ice Cream Sandwich. As to specs, Cherry Mobile did not reveal everything. What’s known so far is that the Omega will have a 1GHz dual-core CPU, a 2300mAh battery, 3G connectivity and dual-SIM capability.
The retail price for the Cherry Mobile Omega is surprisingly low. For the specs mentioned above, you can get the Omega for only P6,699. In terms of design, the Omega looks sleek but the question most people would ask relates to the phone’s build. I cannot say if the build is good or not considering that I have not used the Cherry Mobile Omega yet. Rest assured that I will blog about it if I get the chance to review one. Meanwhile, head over to Cherry Mobile kiosks and try to check the phone for yourselves. According to the announcement from Cherry Mobile, the Omega will be available this January.
