BlackBerry Q5 with QWERTY Keyboard Introduced

After the Blackberry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10, the next new handset from Blackberry (formerly Research in Motion) is the BlackBerry Q5.  Just like the two earlier handsets, the BlackBerry Q5 runs the new BlackBerry 10 OS.  The BlackBerry Q5 features a playful and colorful design which should make the phone a potential hit with younger users.

The BlackBerry Q5 has a 3.1-inch HD LCD (720×720 relosution) touch screen which reminds me of the HTC ChaCha.  The keyboard on this phone uses discrete keys that have been designed to help users type fast, accurately and with the least amount of effort.

The BlackBerry Q5 will carry an affordable price tag if we are to base the pricing on the handset’s main specs.  The Q5 runs on a 1.2GHz CPU and features a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera.  For storage, the Q5 features 8GB of internal memory expandable via microSD slot.  The phone is powered by a 2,100mAh battery.

The phone offers software features like BlackBerry Time Shift mode, BlackBerry Story Maker, BlackBerry Messenger, BBM Video, BlackBerry Hub and screen share.

The new BlackBerry Q5 smartphone will be available in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America starting July.  The handset will be available in the Philippines around the same time it’s made available in other countries.  It will be available in white, pink, red and black colors.
