PLDT and Smart specifically aims to improve its fixed and wireless services through a USD 28.5 million partnership with Huawei, a global information and communications technology solutions provider.

According to PLDT Chairman and CEO Manuel Pangilinan, the strategic partnership will enable the four major brands PLDT, Smart, Sun and TNT to become more agile, efficient and resilient in developing and delivering a growing array of digital services. The said move will help the company leverage on efficiency because everything will be managed under one platform. Business processes will be streamlined and simplified. The partnership is part of a broader effort to overhaul the IT systems so they can deliver best-in-class wireless services.
