Samsung Galaxy J2 Core announced; Features Android Go Edition

Samsung announced the Galaxy J2 Core, the company’s first Android Go edition smartphone. Features light weight specs, Android Go Oreo.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is an entry-level smartphone that runs on Android Go. For those not familiar, Android Go is a slimmed down version of the Android OS, designed to run on ow spec’d smartphones with limited RAM and storage. It features lighter, smaller versions of Google apps to make it fit devices with limited space and power.

The handset comes with a 5-inch qHD TFT display with a 960 x 540 resolution. Inside you’ll find a quad-core Exynos 7570 processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage.

It has an 8MP main camera and a 5MP front shooter. Both cameras have f/2.2 aperture and other features such as Beauty Mode.

The handset runs on Android Oreo Go Edition, and comes with an Ultra Date Saving feature that allows for efficient data use. It is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core will be initially available in Malaysia and India starting on August 24, 2018, and will expand to more markets in the coming weeks and months.
