Natalie Portman will play female Thor in next MCU movie

Marvel recently announced the fourth Thor movie titled Thor: Love and Thunder and have cast Natalie Portman to reprise her role as Jane Foster. She will also play a female version of Thor.

The announcement was made at the Comic-Con 2019 at Marvel’s Hall H panel which saw Portman join Chris Hemsworth, Taika Waititi, and Tessa Thompson on stage.

In the comics, Jane Foster became the Mighty Thor when the original Thor Odinson was deemed not worthy to wield Mjolnir. Foster stepped in to become the new god of thunder.

Casting Natalie Portman as the new Thor is very interesting. She is a very good actress and I believe she can pull this off. With Taika Waititi at the helm, I’m hoping they can continue what they started and recreate the magic that made Thor: Ragnarok such an entertaining movie.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s phase 4, alongside Eternals, another Doctor Strange movie, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
