Realme C3 unboxing, sample photos, initial hands-on review

Realme PH continues its great start this 2020 with the upcoming launch of another budget handset — the Realme C3. Announced globally in early February, the C3 is powered by a Helio G70 processor, a midrange gaming chip from MediaTek. The phone is coming to the Philippines this March.

Their local office lent us a review unit for a quick unboxing and initial hands-on. Let’s get to it then.

As with most of their phones, the Realme C3 is packed in a yellow box with the Realme branding. It comes with a 5V 2A charger, a microUSB cable, and a SIM eject tool.

The Realme C3 fronts a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a 1600 by 720 resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a small dewdrop notch that houses a 5MP selfie camera. There’s also a pre-installed screen protector.

The phone features a textured back panel, similar the Realme 5i. Our review unit is colored Blazing Red, which definitely attracts attention.

On the left side, you have the SIM tray with triple slots and the volume rockers. The power button is on the right, while at the bottom are the 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, microUSB port, and mono speaker.

At the back, the Realme C3 has a triple camera setup with a 12MP main, 2MP portrait, and 2MP macro. There’s a fingerprint sensor there as well.

Here are some sample photos. So far so good. The images have been resized for the web with quality set at 60.

At this point, Realme PH has not yet revealed the price or availability details, saving those for the official launch. But if I’m to guess, it could fall somewhere in the PHP 5,490 range.

That’s it for our initial hands-on review of the Realme C3. It will officially launch in the Philippines on March 5, 2020. Stay tuned in the coming days for more details.
