OPPO Find X2, Find X2 Pro announced: 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865

OPPO Reno12 Series 5G Now Available

After its fair share of leaks, OPPO finally unveils their latest flagships, the OPPO Find X2 and OPPO Find X2 Pro.

The two phones have almost identical looks and specifications, fielding the same display size and battery capacities. They do have major differences though, which we’ll tackle in a bit.

One things for certain, OPPO has pulled all the stops to make sure these phones have monster specs.

What’s the same

Let’s first check out what they have in common. Both the OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro have the same 6.67-inch OLED displays with 3168 x 1440 resolution, a punch hole 32MP selfie camera, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 6 panel.

OPPO says the display has the 01 Ultra Vision Engine, and is capable of showing up to 1.07 billion colors.

The two phones come with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, both with 12GB RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. The Find X2 has 256GB of storage, while the Pro model has 512GB of storage. They also both run ColorOS 7.1 on top of Android 10.

The flagships also have 4,200mAh batteries with 65W SuperVOOC Flash Charge support, NFC, and stereo speakers.

What’s different

Like I said, the the two flagships have their differences. Apart from the storage mentioned above, they have different builds too. The Find X2 will come in Ceramic and Glass variants, while the Find X2 Pro in Ceramic and Vegan Leather.

As for the specs, the main difference lies in the cameras. While both have triple cameras, they use different sensors.

The Find X2’s 48MP main camera uses a Sony IMX586 sensor, together with a 12MP Sony IMX708 sensor with a ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP sensor with a telephoto lens.

The Find X2 Pro, on the other hand, has a 48MP camera with a Sony IMX689 sensor, in addition to the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a 13MP periscope telephoto camera. The periscope telephoto supports up to 10x hybrid zoom and up to 60x digital zoom.

Aside from the hardware, the two also have different water and dust certification. The Pro model comes with IP68, while the vanilla one only has IP54 certification.

Price

This is where it gets really interesting. The Find X2 Pro is priced at a surprising EUR 1,199 (PHP 68,500), while the Find X2 is priced at EUR 999 (PHP 57,000).

This looks like its a lot, but it does cost less than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, the Galaxy S20+ and the Galaxy S20, respectively. Whether or not the two brands are comparable is up to the buyer, but specs-wise, the Find X2 series looks ready to challenge the other flagships.
