Samsung is Asia’s top brand, survey says

Samsung is number one on Asia’s Top 1000 Brands, according to a survey conducted by Campaign Asia-Pacific and partner Nielsen.

The survey took consumer opinions of 8,400 people across 14 markets in the Asia Pacific, assessing brand preference in 15 product and service categories.

The South Korean tech giant has been number one in Asia for nine straight years. This year, Samsung received the highest rank in five major categories. It is followed by Apple, Panasonic, LG, Nestle, Sony, Nike, Chanel, Google, and Philips.

In the smartphone world, Samsung is also king. The tech company leads all brands with a 20% global market share in Q1 2020, according to Counterpoint Research. They shipped over 58.6 million smartphones during that time.

Hot on their heels is Huawei with a global market share of 17%, Apple with 14%, Xiaomi with 10%, OPPO with 8%, and vivo with 7%.

This August, Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Note20 series in an Unpacked event via livestream.
