Here are the top 10 selfie phones according to DXOMARK.
For those not familiar, DXOMARK is a popular independent benchmarking and testing company who specializes in smartphone cameras, as well as lenses and regular cameras. While they may not be the end-all be-all authority on camera quality, they do have a standard testing across devices that give us a pretty good idea how they perform against each other.
As the world’s foremost selfie takers, Filipinos may care more about the quality of front facing cameras than any other nation. So much so in fact that many consider it a major factor when choosing smartphones.
Seeing the importance of selfies, DXOMARK has separated the testing of front facing cameras. And below, we have their top 10 best as of November 2020.

- Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G
- Huawei nova 6 5G
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G
- ASUS ZenFone 6

- Samsung Galaxy S10+
- Google Pixel 5
Most of the phones on the list are unsurprisingly flagships, with the exception of a couple of devices. Interestingly, the list has three Huawei phones and four Samsung Galaxy handsets, both with a reputation of great camera hardware.
Take note that it appears they have not yet tested the selfie cameras of the iPhone 12 series, hence the reason why they’re not on the list.
I’ll quickly gloss over the top three phones.
At number one is the new Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Not only is it their current best main camera (score of 136), its also has the best selfie camera with a score of 104. The phone features a 13MP main with TOF 3D selfie cameras. While at the back, it has three Leica cameras with a 50MP main, a 20MP Cine, and 12MP telephoto.
At second is the Huawei P40 Pro with a 104 selfie score. It has a dual 32MP main and a secondary depth selfie cameras. Its also number three in the main camera department with 136 points.
Finally, I was surprised at who was sitting at third. The ASUS ZenFone 7 Pro has a selfie score of 101. It has a flip up camera and uses its main sensors for selfies with 64MP main, an 8MP zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide.
That’s it for the top 10 selfie camera phones from DXOMARK. I’m almost sure the new iPhone 12 series will break the top 10 once their testing is complete.
