How to activate your DITO SIM card, register your DITO app, APN settings & more

Here’s how to activate your new DITO SIM card, how to register your DITO SIM on the DITO app, where to buy the SIM and prepaid load, its APN settings, and its mobile number prefixes.

DITO Telecommunity, the Philippines’ de facto third major telco, recently launched its services in the National Capital Region (NCR). With network coverage in over 100 cities, DITO now has presence in major cities and municipalities.

For those who want to give them a try, here are some of the things you will need to know about the DITO SIM card and how to activate it, the DITO app, and more.

Where to buy a DITO SIM, prepaid load, and prepaid promos

Before getting a DITO SIM, take note that they have some requirements: Apart from the DITO SIM card, you will also need a compatible smartphone and network coverage in your area.

DITO SIM cards can be purchased in DITO retail outlets, the DITO online store, and on DITO stores on Shopee and Lazada. Prepaid load credits are available on the DITO mobile app or in DITO retail outlets.

Their website priced the regular DITO SIM card at PHP 40. It will come with 1GB mobile data, valid for 7 days.

On the DITO Telecommunity official store on Shopee and Lazada, the DITO SIM retails for Php 199 and comes with the 25GB High Speed Data promo.

How to activate DITO sim card

1. Upon receipt of the DITO SIM Card, insert the SIM in your compatible device.
2. The DITO SIM card will be activated when you connect to mobile data or when you attempt your first call or text.
3. You will receive a confirmation via SMS or the DITO app on the activation of the DITO SIM Card.

You might also need to activate VoLTE on your phone if your device supports it. DITO relies on the feature for some of its services.

How to activate VoLTE

First, make sure VoLTE is supported by your phone.

For most devices, you can find VoLTE by going to Settings> Either Network/Connections/Call Settings> Mobile Network. Find and activate VoLTE. If active, you will see a VoLTE icon on the notifications bar.

Take note that in some phones, VoLTE cannot be activated if the network (in this case DITO), does not certify it on their end.

How to register your DITO SIM to your DITO app

As soon as you get your DITO SIM, it’s recommended that you register it on the DITO app. Through the app, you can monitor your load balance, mobile data, and free minutes. You can also purchase load and prepaid promos through the app.

1. Download the DITO app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
2. Input your DITO mobile number.
3. Input your preferred 6-digit numeric password.
4. Input the verification code, if asked. Input the SMS code sent to your mobile number, if asked.
5. Tap sign in.

Alternative Method

I had some trouble activating the DITO app. If you experience the same issues, you can try this method.

1. Download the DITO app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
2. Input your DITO mobile number.
3. Tap “Forget Password”.
4. Input your preferred 6-digit numeric password. Re-enter the password.
5. Input the verification code, if asked. Input the SMS code sent to your phone.
6. Sign-in with your DITO mobile number and new password.
