First appeared in Pinoy Komiks in 1963, Captain Barbell is a fictional Filipino comics superhero created by writer, Mars Ravelo and artist Jim Fernandez. His characteristics are similar to American fictional superheroes Superman, DC Comics’ Captain Marvel, and Thor but Ravelo based his backstory on Captain America.

Darna, on the other hand, was also created Ravelo with illustrator Nestor Redondo, in 1947. She is the iconic Filipina super-heroine who fights against both common criminals as well as greater forces of evil, most famously the snake-haired woman Valentina.

Recently, League of Legends characters crossed over to the world of PUBG Mobile. Who knows? Pinoy superheroes Captain Barbell and Darna may follow soon. Collaboration with key entertainment properties in movies and gaming is PUBG Mobile’s way of providing new, interesting, and engaging content to its players.

Meanwhile, everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is coming to PUBG Mobile soon. Exclusive content from Spider-Man: No Way Home will appear in the upcoming PUBG MOBILE Version 1.8 update, the game’s first collaboration with Sony Pictures. Starting December 10, players around the world will have the opportunities to get exclusive items such as collaboration graffiti by completing in-game missions.

Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing, Tencent Games: “Spider-Man is one of the most beloved characters both in the Super Hero world, and more widely in popular culture. The opportunity to team up with Spider-Man: No Way Home means that we can bring the excitement and anticipation of the film and character to PUBG MOBILE, something we’re certain our players, and Spider-Man fans, are going to love.”

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, for the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe.

Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse. Stay tuned for more details on the PUBG MOBILE x Spider-Man: No Way Home promotional partnership, to be revealed with the launch of the PUBG MOBILE Version 1.8 update in mid-January.
