Singapore’s ALMGHTY and the Philippines’ Smart Omega have secured their slots for the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2022.
ALMGHTY bested Smart Omega at a nail-biting grand finals match of two CODM powerhouses at the Garena Regional Qualifiers last Sunday, September 18. The match took all seven rounds with the former taking the crown 4-3.
All eyes, however, were on the match between Smart Omega and Blacklist International in the lower bracket, where the latter found themselves after falling to ALMGHTY. The gunfights were intense as Smart Omega took a 2-0 map lead at the start, with big wins on Hardpoint at Takeoff and Search and Destroy at Summit.
Blacklist bounced back the next two rounds, taking Control at Firing Range and a close win on Hardpoint at Slums.
In the deciding round, Jerrold “Woopiiee” Regay, regarded as one of the best snipers in the tournament, popped off with 20 kills in Search and Destroy at Raid to win the match and MVP honors.
