Spotify HiFi streaming could happen sooner than we think

HiFi streaming is a long-requested feature of Spotify users. It was announced back in 2021, but then, they went silent. But there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. One survey suggests the feature may come sooner than we think.

A Redditor posted a survey served to him on Spotify after he quit the Premium plan in favor of Apple Music. On the survey, it asked him if he would return to the platform after 30 days, showing three plan tiers, that include a Platinum option for USD 19.99 with HiFi streaming, along with other new features such as Studio Sound, Headphone Tuner, Audio Insights, Library Pro, Playlist Pro, and Limited-ad Spotify podcasts.

According to this report from The Verge, the user was shown several iterations of the Platinum Plan with different offerings to justify the bump in the subscription price.

As for the other features of the Platinum Plan, we can only guess what they are. Studio Sound, for instance, could be their version of the 360 audio that the other music streaming platforms offer.

But for those who want lossless and high-resolution audio streaming now, Apple Music offers it at no extra cost. In the Philippines, there are three plans — Student for Php 75 per month, Individual for Php 129 per month, and Family for Php 199 per month.
