MMDA suspends Expanded Number Coding Scheme for the holidays

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announces the suspension of the Expanded Number Coding Scheme for the holidays.

In a Facebook post, it was declared that there will be no number coding on the following dates:

  • December 26, 2022, Monday
  • December 30, 2022, Friday, Rizal Day
  • January 2, 2023, Monday

Motorists are advised to plan their travels accordingly during the holidays as heavy traffic and congestion are expected to worsen as people rush for their last-minute shopping.

Recently, the MMDA has also announced that shopping malls in Metro Manila can resume their normal operating hours. In November, malls in the NCR were ordered to adjust their operating hours to help alleviate heavy traffic during the holiday season.
