ECHO Proud crowned champions of MLBB Development League Philippines Season 1

The esports team beat GameLab in the best-of-five championship match.

The Philippines has crowned its first-ever Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League champions, and the victors are none other than ECHO Proud.

The competition was held entirely online, with ECHO Proud dominating the best-of-five series against GameLab, taking home the title and the lion’s share of $20,000, or roughly ₱1,080,000.

ECHO Proud emerged victorious with a score of 3-1, cementing their place in history as the first champions of MDL Philippines. The team’s Jay Pee “Jaypee” Gonzalez was also declared the Grand Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP). Blacklist Academy and BREN Euphoria secured third and fourth-place finishes, respectively.

In a press conference following the grand finals, Jaypee expressed his team’s elation, saying, “Sobrang saya sa feeling namin. Gusto talaga namin makuha ang championship sa first season ng MDL Philippines kasi mahirap syang makalimutan. First MDL sa Pilipinas at kami ang nanalo.”

(“We are overjoyed. We really wanted to win the championship in the first season of MDL Philippines because it was an unforgettable experience. It’s the first MDL in the Philippines, and we won it.”)

The winning team, ECHO Proud, is led by coach Limuelle “eLLE” Galera and boasts a roster of strong esports athletes, including Johnville “Outplayed” Villar, Jankurt “KurtTzy” Seralvo, James “Jeymz” Gloria, and Amistoso “Seichu” Lope.
