Xiaomi expands its Redmi Note 12 series in the Philippines with two new midrange smartphones that boast flagship features: the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12S.
These new smartphones are the latest additions to the lineup which already includes the Redmi Note 12 4G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with an FHD+ 2400×1080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support, with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and 4G connectivity. At the back, it has a quad-camera setup that consists of a 108MP main sensor, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses. It also has a 16MP sensor in front for selfies and video calls.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging, a side fingerprint scanner, and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. It runs on MIUI 13, based on Android 11, which is unfortunate.
Next, we have the Redmi Note 12S, which has a 6.43-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a MediaTek Helio G96 processor under the hood with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It too has 4G connectivity, but runs on a newer Android 13-based MIUI 14.
This time around, the phone has a triple-camera setup with a 108MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens, along with a 16MP camera in front.
The phone also features a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, a side fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers.
Price & Availability
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 8GB+256GB is priced at P14,999, while the Redmi Note 12S 8GB+256GB is priced at P12,999.
The smartphones will be available in authorized Xiaomi stores, and online via Lazada and Shopee starting June 9, 2023. You can also get the chance to get a free Xiaomi Powerbank when you purchase any of the models from June 9 to 18.
