Smart Communications bolsters its position as a leader in 5G roaming by providing customers access to 5G services in 70 countries through partnerships with 118 key operators worldwide.

Customers equipped with Smart 5G SIM cards and compatible devices can enjoy live 5G roaming services in a wide range of countries. These include popular destinations such as Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, and many others. To subscribe to these services, customers traveling abroad can visit gigaroam.smart.com.ph and select the data plans that best suit their roaming needs. This user-friendly platform enables seamless access to Smart’s 5G roaming services, ensuring a hassle-free experience for customers seeking connectivity on their international journeys.

As of the end of March 2023, PLDT has extended its fiber footprint to over 1.1 million kilometers, encompassing more than 231,000 kilometers of international fiber and over 874,000 kilometers of domestic fiber. This extensive fiber infrastructure supports Smart’s 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G networks, which currently reach 97 percent of the country’s population.
