Smart, DICT partner to integrate eGov PH app with SIM Registration process

The move is seen to bolster the fight against fraud.

Smart Communications and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have joined forces to integrate the eGov PH app (eGOV) into the SIM Registration process. This collaboration aims to enhance security and protect Filipino mobile subscribers from fraudulent activities.

eGOV is a one-stop online system for various government services, covering local and national public agencies, where citizens can conveniently transact through a unified system.

The integration into Smart’s SIM Registration process marks a significant step forward in safeguarding users’ identities and preventing unauthorized SIM card registrations.

Recently, representatives from the Smart SIM Registration team and the DICT also held a workshop on how to implement the eGOV platform integration with Smart’s SIM Registration process.

This development is the latest in PLDT and Smart’s longstanding partnership with DICT and the government as a whole to narrow the digital divide and bring the benefits of the internet closer to more communities across the country.

Smart has been working closely with DICT in implementing the SIM Registration Act, which has enabled Smart to attain leadership in mobile in the Philippines.
