Redmi 12: 90Hz display, Helio G88, and 50MP camera

Xiaomi announced the Redmi 12 in Thailand. Priced at THB 5,299 ($153 or P8,600), the successor to the Redmi 11 comes with updated specs fit for the SRP.

The Redmi 12 has a 6.79-inch FHD+ DotDisplay with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 550 nits of brightness. It also has a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera on the back. While in front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera under a hole punch.

A MediaTek Helio G88 processor powers the phone and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It has a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging and runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The phone also has a side fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM radio, NFC, and an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Redmi 12 is available in three colors: Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Polar Silver. It looks good on paper, however, there’s no information yet on local availability.
