Percy Jackson and the Olympians to Premiere on Disney+ on December 20

The highly-anticipated Percy Jackson and the Olympians series will premiere on Disney+ on December 20, 2023, the streaming service announced today. The series is based on the best-selling book series of the same name by Rick Riordan and follows the adventures of Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old demigod who discovers his true identity and sets out on a quest to prevent a war between the gods of Olympus.

The series stars Walker Scobell (The Adam Project) as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries (Empire) as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri (Cheaper by the Dozen) as Grover Underwood. It is executive produced by Riordan, along with Jon Steinberg (Black Sails), Dan Shotz (The Umbrella Academy), and James Bobin (The Muppets).

A two-episode premiere will kick off the series, followed by new episodes weekly. The first season will adapt the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief.
