Motorola recently announced the Motorola Edge 2023, the latest smartphone in its Edge series and the successor to last year’s model. The Edge 2023 is a mid-range phone that offers some flagship features, such as a 144Hz pOLED display, a Dimensity 7030 processor, and a 50MP main camera.
The Motorola Edge 2023 has a sleek and premium design, with a glass front, an aluminum frame, and a vegan leather back. It has a 6.6-inch pOLED display that curves around the edges, giving it a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. The display supports 10-bit colors, HDR10+, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It also has a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. It has a punch-hole cutout for the 32MP selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner underneath.
The Motorola Edge 2023 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7030 chipset, a 6nm processor with an octa-core CPU (2×2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) and a Mali-G610 MC3 GPU. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, but there is no microSD card slot for expansion. It runs on Android 13 out of the box. However, Motorola has not confirmed how many years of software updates it will provide.
The phone has a 4,400 mAh battery that supports fast charging at up to 68W. It also supports wireless charging at up to 15W.
At the back, the Motorola Edge 2023 has a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, multi-directional PDAF, and OIS, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, AF, and a 120-degree field of view. The ultrawide sensor can also take macro shots with the Macro Vision feature. The rear cameras can record videos at up to 4K resolution at 30fps or 1080p resolution at up to 60fps.
The phone also has Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, NFC, IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and USB-C port.
The Motorola Edge 2023 is available in one color option: Eclipse Black. It is priced at $599.99 (around ₱34,000) in the US, but for a limited time, it is available at a discounted price of $499.99 (around ₱28,300).
