These are the top 10 best-selling smartphones in Q2 2023

According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 14 series was the most popular smartphone line-up in the world in the second quarter of 2023, occupying three spots in the top 10 best-selling models by sales.

The iPhone 14 was the number one smartphone, followed by the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Pro at second and third place, respectively. The iPhone 13, which was launched in late 2022, also made it to the top 10 list at fourth place.

It was also revealed that Apple’s top-10 smartphone share in Q2 2023 was down slightly from Q1 2023, but still remained at double digits. The iPhone 14 base model saw year-over-year share growth across North America and Europe, while the iPhone 14 Pro model saw huge share gains in Asia and Europe.

Samsung was the only other brand that had multiple models in the top 10 list, with five entries from its A-series and one from its S-series. The Samsung Galaxy A14 was the fifth best-selling smartphone in Q2 2023, followed by the Galaxy A54 and the Galaxy A14 5G at sixth and seventh place, respectively.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was launched in February 2023 as Samsung’s flagship device, was the eighth best-selling smartphone in Q2 2023. The Galaxy A04e and the Galaxy A34 rounded up the top 10 list at ninth and tenth place, respectively.

Samsung’s A-series was especially strong in Asia and Latin America, where the two regions accounted for almost 60% of all top-10 A-series smartphone sales during Q2 2023. Moreover, North America and Western Europe weighted heavily for Samsung’s only ultra-premium top-10 entry, the Galaxy S23 Ultra; combined, those two regions accounted for almost two-thirds of global Ultra unit sales.

The rankings were based on sell-through data, which reflects the actual sales to end users, rather than shipments to retailers or distributors.
