ECHO Proud wins second consecutive MDL-PH title in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

ECHO Proud became the first team to win two MDL-PH titles in a row after defeating Omega Neos in the grand finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League – Philippines (MDL-PH) Season 2. The tournament featured the best up-and-coming teams in the country, competing for a share of the USD 20,000 prize pool.

ECHO Proud proved their dominance by winning the best-of-five (Bo5) series with a 3:1 score, earning the championship trophy and the lion’s share of the prize money. Justine “Zaida” Palma was named the Grand Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP). Omega Neos and TNZ4 finished as the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The ECHO Proud roster consists of Johnville “Outplayed” Villar, Santi “Santi Sucre” Noble, Mark Justine “Zaida” Palma, Jankurt Russel “KurtTzy” Matira, James “Jeymz” Gloria, and Aaren Maximos “Sindel” Palomo, with Ronnel Jayson “Cjay” Espinoza as their coach. The team showed their resilience and teamwork despite missing Jaypee “Jaypee” Cruz, who is currently playing for their sister team ECHO Loud in the MPL-PH.

“Pinatunayan namin na kahit wala si daddy Jaypee (sa ECHO Proud roster), ay kaya namin,” said roamer James “Jeymz” Gloria. “Yung pagiging captain material ni Jaypee yung nawala samin, kaya nag-adjust kami para magtulungan kaming lahat. Kinailangan namin magstep-up dahil nawala sya,” added Johnville “Outplayed” Villar.

(“We proved that we can do it even without daddy Jaypee (in the ECHO Proud roster),” said roamer James “Jeymz” Gloria. “We lost Jaypee’s leadership skills, so we had to adjust and help each other. We had to step up because he was gone,” added Johnville “Outplayed” Villar.)

On the other hand, Omega Neos, who finished as the first runner-up, is composed of Eric Joseph “Cyre” Mercader, Christian “West” Mangabay, Ron Matthew “Matt” Papag, Dan Nathaniel “Dan” Yambao, Ryan Michi “Rayl” Asaoka, Luke Andrei “Luke” Redioca, and Mark Glenn “Super Markkk” Florencio, with Patrick Tetro “Dhap” Palacio as their coach.

The MDL-PH Season 2 is sponsored by Smart, the official telco partner of the league.
