Filipino gamers subscribed to Xbox’s PC Game Pass will face a price increase starting September 2024. The monthly subscription fee will jump from Php 119 to Php 175, representing a 47% increase.
This price adjustment comes two years after PC Game Pass first launched in the Philippines, alongside Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, in April 2022. Xbox has sent an email announcement regarding the change.
The service has steadily gained traction among Filipino gamers, offering access to over 100 high-quality games, including day-one releases from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, and Activision Blizzard.
The price hike comes as no surprise, considering the trend was happening across multiple regions globally, not just in the Philippines. The company recently announced a similar increase for PC Game Pass subscriptions in other markets.
The news will likely spark discussions among Filipino gamers. Whether the expanded library and day-one access justify the new price point remains to be seen.
