Tecno quietly unveiled its next generation of foldable phones, the Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2, in Ghana this week. However, details remain scarce as the company has yet to confirm the phones’ specifications and features.
Pre-orders for both phones are currently underway in Ghana, with a pre-order package including a gift box, travel bag, and a Tecno Watch 3.
While technical specifications haven’t been officially confirmed, leaked images reveal a design refresh for both devices.
The Phantom V Fold 2 ditches the round camera module of its predecessor for a more modern rectangular setup. The images also showcase a triple-lens camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. A stylus pen appears alongside the phone, suggesting native stylus support for the Fold 2.
The Phantom V Flip 2, meanwhile, takes inspiration from Motorola’s latest Razr, with a significantly larger cover display compared to the original Flip.
As for the chipsets, rumors suggest the Phantom V Fold 2 will be powered by a Dimensity 9000+ chipset, while the Flip 2 is expected to use the Dimensity 8050 processor.
Both phones have also been spotted on India’s BIS certification database, hinting at a potential future launch in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
For now, details about the phones remain a mystery. We have to wait and see what else the foldable phones offer. Stay tuned.
