iPadOS 18 is bricking some M4 iPad Pros

Apple has temporarily paused the rollout of iPadOS 18 for M4 iPad Pro models due to reports of bricking devices. This unexpected issue has caught many users off guard, raising concerns about the stability of the latest software update.

According to MacRumors, several Redditors have posted that their M4 iPad Pros became unresponsive and unusable after installing the update. While not all M4 iPad Pro owners experienced the issue, the reports have prompted Apple to halt seeding iPadOS 18 to affected devices.

The problem could be linked to iOS 17.7. Some users said there were no issues when they skipped 17.7 and going straight to iPadOS 18. However, take note that this method is not confirmed to be effective.

In a statement released to MacRumors, Apple acknowledged the issue and explained that the update has been temporarily removed as they work to resolve the issue that is impacting a “small number of devices.”

For now, M4 iPad Pro owners are left with no choice but to wait and see what happens next.
