HUAWEI and GCash launch WATCH Pay

You can now make contactless payments directly from your smartwatch. HUAWEI and GCash have officially launched WATCH Pay, the Philippines’ first-ever QR code payment system on a smartwatch. Teased in June, this feature was unveiled at HUAWEI’s Tech With Love event in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) on November 9, 2024.

WATCH Pay lets HUAWEI smartwatch users make seamless payments directly from their wrists. This new feature will allow them to send and receive money, purchase load, and pay for online purchases without pulling out their smartphones.

Currently, WATCH Pay is compatible with the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series, the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate, and the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3. The initial rollout began on November 9, and it is expected to be available for all compatible HUAWEI smartwatches by November 15.

iOS users are not left behind. WATCH Pay is also coming to compatible Apple Watches by December 15.

On November 9 and 10, HUAWEI Philippines hosted a two-day Tech With Love Pop-Up Event at 5th Avenue in BGC. This immersive experience allowed attendees to explore HUAWEI’s latest products and technologies through interactive zones.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series, WATCH Ultimate, and WATCH FIT 3 are available on Shopee, Lazada, Tiktok, HUAWEI Online Store, and HUAWEI Experience Stores nationwide.
