OPPO recently reintroduced its flagship Find X series to the Philippine market with the launch of the Find X8, priced at Php 54,999. The last time the brand brought a Find X device to the country was in 2020 with the Find X2.
OPPO’s latest premium offering, the Find X8, packs powerful specifications and features, including the innovative Hasselblad Master Camera System. But amidst a crowded market of flagship devices, does this one truly stand out? Let’s find out in this review.
Design and Display
The Find X8 strikes a perfect balance between size and design, offering a sleek profile and comfortable grip.
The Find X8 feels compact, despite its 6.59-inch display. The phone sits comfortably between the smaller iPhone 16 and the larger Galaxy S23 Ultra. Measuring 157.35 x 74.33 x 7.85 mm and weighing only 193g, it has good size, offering a comfortable and manageable form factor.
The phone has a solid build quality as well. The Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and the IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance add extra protection, able to withstand accidental drops, scratches, splashes, and even immersion water.
Our review unit is in Star Grey color, which has a subtle bronze tint. It exudes a sophisticated elegance. The phone is also available in Space Black, which features a more traditional dark color.
Returning to the display, the handset’s 6.59-inch screen has an AMOLED panel with a 2760×1256 resolution. It is stunning with vibrant colors, deep blacks, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a peak brightness of 4500 nits, which means you get excellent outdoor visibility, even under direct sunlight.
At the rear is a large circular camera module that houses powerful cameras with the pronounced Hasselblad logo. The LED flash is discreetly placed outside the module, adding to the clean, minimalist aesthetic. The back panel has a frosted, soft-touch finish with the etched OPPO logo.
The Find X8’s sleek, ergonomic design is complemented by a host of practical features. The alert slider is a welcome addition. It offers quick and easy access to silent, vibrate, and ring modes. The device also boasts powerful and great-sounding stereo speakers, a USB-C port, and an IR blaster for remote control functionality.
Cameras
The Find X8 features a triple-camera system, co-engineered with Hasselblad. It boasts a powerful 50MP Sony LYT-700 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It also has a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone also offers a familiar camera app. It has all the most popular settings and modes within easy reach. Moreover, it has the Master mode, which has access to several image quality settings, and a full-featured Pro mode.
The Find X8 also leverages AI to improve image clarity and sharpness on telephoto shots. Additionally, the Photos app itself offers AI-powered editing tools, such as the AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Reflection Remover, AI Unblur, and AI Eraser.
The AI Clarity Enhancer is a personal favorite. As the name implies, it gently boosts clarity and vibrance (without overdoing it), elevating the overall image.

Zoom Photos
The image quality of zoomed photos is good. The AI does a great job of keeping images clean and sharp. However, if you zoom all the way to the end of the range (120x digital zoom), images will tend to look over-processed and lose fine details. Faces, for instance, will have that watercolor effect. Regardless, it’s remarkable how the image is still usable, especially for social media.
Ultra-wide Photos
These are some of the best ultra-wide results I’ve seen on a flagship. Colors and dynamic range are all very good.
Low Light and Night Photos
Low light and night performance are excellent. There are a lot of details and the colors are spot on. Noise is also well-controlled.
Selfies
Selfies have good detail and soft skin tones. Overall results are pleasant.
AI Eraser
AI Eraser is one of the most useful tools that ever came to smartphones. It allows for a quick cleanup of images. It’s not perfect, but it does a good job of removing unwanted elements in a photo, should you need it.
Performance
The Find X8 delivers lightning-fast performance. The device easily handles demanding tasks, including gaming and multitasking.
It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. You can also apply RAM expansion to up to 12GB.
The flagship is one of the first devices to come with the new ColorOS 15 interface. The OS is based on Android 15 and brings several AI enhancements that optimize performance and enhance the overall user experience.
As for updates, the phone comes with 4 years of major Android OS updates and 6 years of security updates. This means you get to use the phone for a long time.
ColorOS 15 has matured into a polished and feature-rich Android skin, rivaling Samsung’s One UI.
One of its highlights is the Live Alerts feature. It is inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island, allowing for quick viewing of notifications and app information. The feature also works with various apps, including ride-hailing services like Grab, music streaming apps such as Apple Music and Spotify, and more.
One minor annoyance I have with the software is the inconsistent performance of Global Search. This is more of a personal issue. For those not familiar with it, Global Search is a separate app that handles searches across the device, rather than having the search function integrated into the launcher. It is also available on realme and OnePlus devices. At least it is possible to disable it.
The Find X8 delivers impressive performance, truly fitting a flagship phone. There are no complaints in this regard. In day-to-day use, the device operates smoothly and responsively, easily managing multitasking, gaming, and media consumption. Additionally, the speaker quality is excellent, providing clear sound and good volume. The in-display fingerprint scanner is quick and responsive.
Temperatures are well controlled. Even during intense gaming sessions or extended camera use, the device does not become uncomfortably hot.
Additionally, benchmark tests consistently rank it among the top performers in its class.

Battery and Charging
The Find X8 has a 5630mAh battery that supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging
The battery can easily last a full day, even with heavy usage. It achieved 11 hours and 49 minutes on the PCMark for Android Work 3.0 battery life benchmark. The score is pretty good, which translates to around 9 hours and 40 minutes of screen-on time.
The included 80W SUPERVOOC fast charger can charge the battery from 20% to 100% in just over an hour. In the meantime, a quick 30-minute charge can provide around 45%.

While the Find X8 isn’t without its flaws (the occasional quirks of Global Search are a minor inconvenience), it delivers a truly exceptional user experience. The device stands out as a well-rounded flagship that offers exceptional value for money.
