realme extends Android updates to 3 years and security patches to 4 years for select phones

The new update policy brings longer Android support to select phones, starting with the 14 and 15 series.

realme is finally stepping up its software support. The company is promising three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches for select devices, including the realme 14 Pro+, 14 Pro, 14T, and the realme 15 and 15 Pro, and the upcoming P4 series, P3 Ultra, P3 Pro, and P3.

The new policy was confirmed by Francis Wong, realme’s Global Head of Product Marketing. He said the “3+4” update plan will apply to all future models in the Number Pro, Number, and Number T series.

The realme 15 and 15 Pro, launched in July 2025, feature 144Hz AMOLED displays, large batteries, and high-resolution cameras. The realme 14 series, released earlier this year, introduced upgraded hardware and a color-changing back design.

Other realme phones, including older models and different series, will continue with the standard 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches.
