Apple launches iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, prices in PH start at ₱79,990

New cameras, A19 Pro chip, and up to 8x optical zoom.

Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both models feature a new aluminum unibody design with better heat management and stronger durability. They come in two sizes: 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.

The phones are powered by the A19 Pro chip, which offers faster performance and better battery life. Apple says the Pro Max can last up to 37 hours of video playback. Both models support fast charging, reaching 50% in 20 minutes with a 40W adapter.

Camera upgrades include three 48MP rear cameras for the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto. The telephoto lens now supports up to 8x optical zoom. The front camera is an 18MP Center Stage sensor that adjusts framing using AI and supports landscape selfies.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max also support advanced video features like ProRes RAW and genlock. They run on iOS 26, which includes Apple Intelligence and new tools for translation and visual search.

In the Philippines, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at ₱79,990 for the 256GB model. The Pro Max starts at ₱86,990. Pre-orders begin September 12, with availability starting September 19.

Expect local pre-orders to start around October. Color options include cosmic orange, deep blue, and silver.
