Samsung begins rolling out One UI 8 with Android 16 to Galaxy devices

The rollout began with the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung has started releasing its latest software update, One UI 8.0, based on Android 16. The rollout began on September 15, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. This includes the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge.

Other premium models like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 are expected to get the update in the coming weeks. Samsung plans to bring One UI 8 to most eligible phones and tablets before the end of 2025.

One UI 8 introduces several new features. It improves AI tools and adds smarter personalization. The Now Bar and Now Brief have been updated for easier use. Samsung Knox security has also been upgraded, including a more secure Secure Folder.

Users will notice changes in the Calendar, Clock, Reminders, and Weather apps. Samsung DeX gets better support, and Quick Share has been redesigned. Bluetooth Auracast is now supported, making it easier to share audio with others.

The update is rolling out in phases, so not all devices will get it right away. Samsung has not shared a full release schedule, but more details are expected soon.
