GCash has launched a new in‑app guide to help Filipinos understand cryptocurrency. The resource, called “A Beginner’s Guide to Cryptocurrency”, is available through GCrypto.
The guide was created by Luis Buenaventura, a Filipino crypto author and entrepreneur. It explains key ideas such as Bitcoin, wallets, volatility, and trading basics in plain language. To make the topic easier to grasp, it uses familiar examples like inflation and daily budgeting.
Divided into eight chapters, the material covers why cryptocurrency was developed, how it works, and the risks and rewards of investing. It also introduces other coins beyond Bitcoin, including Ethereum, Solana, stablecoins, and memecoins.
The guide stresses that crypto should add to traditional savings and diversified investments, not replace them.

GCrypto makes the guide accessible directly in the GCash app. Users can start investing with as little as ₱200 using their verified accounts. The platform offers a curated list of coins reviewed for security, peso‑to‑crypto conversion, and blockchain transactions for sending and receiving funds.
