HyperOS 3 update arrives to these POCO and Redmi phones

The update brings new visuals, AI tools, and cross-device features.

Xiaomi has started rolling out the HyperOS 3 update to more devices. The POCO X7, POCO X7 Pro, and Redmi Note 14 Pro are the latest models to get it. The update is based on Android 16 and brings new visuals, AI features, and better performance.

The firmware versions differ by model. The download size is around 6.5GB, so using Wi-Fi is recommended. Xiaomi advises users to have at least 40% battery and enough storage before installing. The rollout is staggered, which means it will take time for the update to reach everyone.

HyperOS 3 includes several changes, such as the Xiaomi HyperIsland, which adds live activity displays at the top of the screen, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, but with support for multiple islands and floating windows.

The lock screen will also have an AI Cinematic Lock Screen and AI Dynamic Wallpapers for more customization. Icons have also been redesigned with brighter colors and rounded corners.

AI tools are a major part of this release. HyperAI enables smart screen recognition, DeepThink mode, and improved speech recognition. Users can reduce background noise, convert speech to text, and get instant summaries.

AI Search can summarize results and scan content stored on the device. Cross-device features have also improved. Xiaomi apps will be able to run on iPads, multiple phone apps to open on Macs in desktop-style windows, and Xiaomi phones to be unlocked with Apple’s Touch ID or Face ID.
