ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel back online after shut down

The channel is restored after hack disrupted a live broadcast.

ABS-CBN Entertainment’s official YouTube channel is back online after being taken down following a hack on November 29. The channel, which has more than 54 million subscribers, suddenly went offline during a live broadcast of It’s Showtime.

Reports said the account was compromised and briefly streamed unauthorized content before YouTube removed it for violating community guidelines.

YouTube enforces strict rules against hacked accounts, scams, and other harmful content. When violations occur, channels are often taken down immediately to protect viewers. In this case, the takedown happened in the middle of a major program, making the disruption more visible.

ABS-CBN quickly moved to keep its shows accessible through other platforms, including Facebook, the iWant app, and partner social media pages. The network has not yet shared full details of the incident, but confirmed that the channel has now been restored.

This is not the first time ABS-CBN has faced issues on YouTube. In 2020, its News and ANC channels were also hacked, causing hours of downtime.

For now, viewers can continue watching ABS-CBN programs on YouTube as the company works to secure its digital platforms.
