YouTube rolls out Recap 2025

Highlights of your top channels, music, and viewing habits.

YouTube is joining the year-end recap trend with its first-ever YouTube Recap 2025. The feature started rolling out on December 2. The rollout is gradual, so it might take some time before it reaches your region.

Recap gives users a look back at their year on YouTube. It shows up to 12 cards highlighting your top channels, favorite interests, and how your viewing habits changed over time.

It also assigns a “personality type” based on what you watched. Some examples include Adventurer, Creative Spirit, and Connector. The most common types this year are Sunshiner, Wonder Seeker, and Connector, while Philosopher and Dreamer are less common.

If you use YouTube Music, you’ll see more details. Recap adds your top artists, songs, genres, and podcasts, with deeper insights available in the Music app.

Recap was shaped by nine rounds of feedback and over 50 concept tests. The goal was to make the experience simple, personal, and easy to share.

You can find your Recap on the homepage or in the “You” tab on both mobile and desktop, or you can go here — https://www.youtube.com/recap.
