Pantone has revealed its Color of the Year for 2026, and it’s Cloud Dancer (Pantone 11-4201). The shade is a soft, airy white with a warm tint. It’s not the sharp, icy kind of white you see on screens or paper. Pantone says the choice reflects a growing need for quiet and simplicity.
Cloud Dancer is the first near-white shade chosen in 25 years. The last time Pantone went close was in 2016 with Rose Quartz and Serenity.
Since 1999, Pantone has used the Color of the Year to capture the mood of the times. Each pick is meant to show what people are looking for in fashion, lifestyle, and culture.
Last year’s color was Mocha Mousse, a warm brown tied to celebrity style and quiet luxury. Cloud Dancer takes things in a different direction, leaning into minimalism and balance. Expect to see it everywhere in 2026, from clothing and interiors to cars, stationery, and even Play-Doh.
