Google Photos rolls out new video editing tools on Android and iOS

Google Photos adds new templates, a redesigned editor, music options, and custom text features.

Google Photos is rolling out new video editing tools that make it easier to create highlight videos on your phone. The update is now available or rolling out on Android and iOS.

One of the biggest additions is the new set of templates for highlight videos. These templates come with preset music, text, and cuts that sync to the beat. You only need to choose your photos and clips. Google Photos then handles the rest and builds a ready-to-share video.

Google also redesigned the video editor. The new layout is cleaner and faster to use. It features a universal timeline for multi-clip editing and an adaptive canvas that adjusts to different formats.

Music tools are getting an upgrade as well. You can browse the built-in music library and add soundtracks to your highlight videos on both Android and iOS.

Android users are also getting new text tools. You can add custom text overlays with new fonts, colors, and backgrounds.

The redesigned editor is now the default tool for editing single video clips on Android. You can add music and text to individual clips, which makes quick edits more convenient.
