Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred launches April 28, Paladin class now playable

Highlights include the Paladin class, a new region, and major system updates.

Blizzard has announced the next major expansion for Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, arriving on April 28, 2026. The update pushes the story deeper into the Age of Hatred as Mephisto’s plans move forward. Players who pre-purchase the expansion can jump into the Paladin class right away.

The Paladin is one of the most requested classes in the series. It uses holy abilities, shields, and close-range attacks. Skills like Blessed Hammer, Auras, Zeal, and Heaven’s Fury return, along with new transformations such as Arbiter form. Blizzard has also confirmed that a second new class will be available at launch, with details to follow.

Lord of Hatred adds Skovos, a new region described as the birthplace of Sanctuary’s earliest civilization. The area features volcanic coasts, forests, temples, and ruins, along with new demons and dungeons tied to Lilith and Inarius.

The expansion also brings several system updates. These include a reworked skill tree, a loot filter, and the return of the Horadric Cube for crafting. A new talisman system introduces set style bonuses. War Plans let players shape their endgame path. Echoing Hatred adds an endless combat mode, while fishing offers a slower activity.
