Prime Video has dropped the first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in its upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. The series gives a fresh take on the iconic video game heroine, who has been a pop culture staple since her debut in 1996.
Turner is known for her role in Game of Thrones. She steps into a character previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. This marks a new era for Lara Croft, with Prime Video aiming to reintroduce the franchise to today’s audiences.
The show is created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), with Chad Hodge as co-showrunner. Jonathan van Tulleken will direct and executive produce. The cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Martin Bobb-Semple, which adds weight to the project.

Lara Croft’s legacy spans decades of games, films, and spin-offs. With new titles in development, the series is part of a broader push to expand Tomb Raider across media. Backed by Story Kitchen, Crystal Dynamics, and Amazon MGM Studios, the reboot is positioned as a cornerstone of that effort.
