Samsung is ending sales of the Galaxy Z TriFold, its double‑folding smartphone, only three months after launch.
The phone was first released in South Korea in December 2025 and later in the US. Domestic sales will officially stop on March 17, 2026, while US sales will continue until stocks run out.
According to this report, Samsung’s decision to stop sales is linked to high production costs. Parts like memory chips and processors made it hard to turn a profit. Industry watchers believe the TriFold was meant more as a showcase of Samsung’s foldable technology than a product for the mass market.
The Galaxy Z TriFold had a 6.5‑inch display that unfolded into a larger 10‑inch screen. It was sold in very limited batches through Samsung.com, often selling out in minutes.
Reports say around 3,000 units were sold during the initial drops, making it more of a collector’s item than a mainstream device. Prices in the resale market quickly jumped because of this.
