Toho has dropped the first trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to 2023’s Godzilla Minus One.
The story continues two years after Minus One, following survivors of Godzilla’s last attack. Director Takashi Yamazaki confirmed the trailer ends with the kaiju looming over the Statue of Liberty, setting the stage for destruction in New York City.
Minus One was a breakout success, earning $116 million worldwide and winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. It was the first non-English film to win in that category. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can catch the kaiju movie on Netflix.
The cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Munetaka Aoki, and Hidetaka Yoshioka. Yamazaki returns as writer and director, ensuring continuity from the previous film.
